The GAD Focal Point System has finalized the result of the GFPS Functionality Pre-Assessment Report on April 27, 2021. The LGU-GFPS Functionality Assessment Tool is designed to contribute to gender-responsive local governance by ensuring that LGUs have the working mechanisms, such as the GFPS, to mainstream GAD in their local policy-making, planning, programming, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation processes. As a self-assessment tool, it gives LGUs the opportunity to examine its GFPS performance based on the parameters set forth in the PCW-DILG-DBM-NEDA JMC 2013-01 guidelines.
The results of the assessment will surface the GFPS strengths, weaknesses, and its underlying gaps. It will also set the baseline information on their current level of functionality, in the fulfillment of their roles, and in achieving the expected core competencies. At most, the LGU GFPS Functionality Assessment Tool shall enable the GFPS to document their good practices on gender mainstreaming.
The meeting was spearheaded by the GFPS TWG Chairperson, Ms. Analiza S. Ileto together with the members of the Document Review Team. The LGU-GFPS Functionality Assessment Tool is intended for use of all the GAD Focal Point Systems established within provinces, cities, and municipalities in the Philippines.
