Gender mainstreaming has been embraced internationally as a strategy towards realizing gender equality. It involves integrating a gender perspective into the preparation, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies, regulatory measures, and spending programs to promote equality between women and men and combat discrimination. In gender mainstreaming, it is imperative to equip the GAD Focal Point System of the Provincial Government of Bulacan to conduct a GAD Awareness Seminar to help address the issues of men and women in Bulacan, especially those who belonged in the marginalized sectors of the society. Understanding how to address gender issues helps formulate effective policies that will consider the diverse impact on women and men to prevent the policy from being gender-blind.

The GAD Awareness and GAD Agenda Workshop was attended by all GAD Focal Point System GAD members (GFPS). The participants were inspired by the messages delivered by the Provincial Administrator, Ms. Antonette Constantino, who has expressed her insights on how the GFPS should take into account the diverse needs and interests of women and men to identify gender inequalities in access to and control of resources, to consider the impact of gender-based stereotypes and traditional gender roles, to anticipate different effects on women and men, and to ensure gender equality.

Hon. Daniel R. Fernando, being the Chairperson of the GAD Focal Point System, Executive Committee, has assured all members of the GFPS to sustain the PGB's critical consciousness in supporting gender and development, women empowerment, and responding to gender issues.

The Resource Speaker, MS. Christine De Leon, -Local Government Operations Officer VI -MLGOO of San Ildefonso -DILG Bulacan Provincial Office Planning Officer -PCW certified National GAD Resource Pool 7th Batch Member has successfully able to get her messages/lectures across while also keeping the participants entertained and engaged.

The workshop on GAD Agenda preparation will be conducted in two(2) different sessions.
